This year’s edition of the President Cup or National Inter Clubs Swimming Championship saw the unprecedented officiating of the competition by Menteri Besar of Selangor, YAB Dato’ Abd. Khalid Bin Ibrahim. A large-scale event, it was widely participated by 1,488 swimmers vying for medals in the 50m and 100m races covering all 4 strokes and age groups. Terengganu made its debut with a contingent of 10 boys and 5 girls. National Elite swimmers regardless of age participated in the Open category. Records tumbled in various age groups and special mention is accorded to outstanding swimmers with their new record times listed below.
