MILO-PRAM NATIONAL AGE GROUP SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIP

This year’s edition of the Malaysian National Age Group Swimming Championship was an exhilarating tournament with Shaun Yap of Selangor rewriting his 50m breaststroke national record by lowering it to an astounding 28.69 sec. Many meet records tumbled and this year also saw guest teams from Hong Kong and India. The Malaysian National Age Group Championship is sanctioned by world swimming body FINA and serves as qualifier for world stage competitions such as the Youth Olympics and World Championships.
Hong Kong Swimmers
Many records tumbled and most of our young national swimmers participated. Among them were Nadia Adrianna Redza, Tan Rou Ying, Yap Siew Hui, Welson Sim, Ian James Barr, Erika Kong, Christina Loh, Vernon Lee, Lim Ching Hwang, Tern Jian Han, Chi Chia Kian, Hii Siew Siew, Yvonne Heng and also reigning queen Siow Yi Ting. Among the budding stars that shone were Steve Khiew of Kuala Lumpur and other swimmers from Sabah and Sarawak. All in all most states fielded formidable swimmers and it was a great 3 days at Bukit Jalil.
